2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Release Date
Last month the Los Angeles Auto Show revealed many new vehicles that will be released in 2015. Ford not only showed off the 2016 Ford Explorer, but they also announced the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 release date. The last Mustang to bear this name premiered almost 50 years ago. It was produced in partnership with Carroll Shelby, an American automotive designer and racing driver. The 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby was only produced for a short time so we are excited to see it making a comeback with this 2016 model.
This new Mustang is powered with a 5.2-liter V8 engine that is estimated to produce 500 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. It’s attention grabbing and powerful in every way. It will also have a flat-plane crank. This crankshaft involves attaching the crank pins at 180 degree intervals instead of 90 degree intervals. This will provide a firing order that bounces back and forth between the two cylinder banks, which allows for evenly spaced exhaust pulses. According to Ford, this is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine the company has ever produced.
The 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 also has a few new design features. The new exterior designs include aluminum front fenders, inlets in the front fascia, a low-profile decklid spoiler, an underbelly aero tray and a rear diffuser. The interior also has a few interesting key features including Recaro sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and an optional Tech Pack. The Tech Pack provides power seat adjustment and leather upholstery, automatic climate control, upgraded Shaker audio and the eight-inch MyFord Touch infotainment screen.
It seems like everyone is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. This powerful Mustang model will be coming soon. Look forward to seeing it next year!
