2018 Ford Expedition Infotainment Features and Capabilities
These days, infotainment features and technologies are important to have in a vehicle. With technology changing so much and so quickly, however, it can be tough for auto manufacturers to keep up. That clearly isn’t the case with Ford, however, as the 2018 Ford Expedition will be arriving with a number of infotainment features and capabilities to help launch it well into the future.
If you didn’t know, the Ford Expedition will be all-new for the 2018 model year. We will need to wait until fall 2017 to see it live and in-person, but that doesn’t mean we can’t allow ourselves to get excited about it. Ford seems to think the same, as it has unveiled some of the infotainment technologies drivers will find.
Can You Watch Live TV In Your Car?
Who wouldn’t want to be able to watch live television on the road. Well, the Ford Expedition for 2018 is going to make it possible.
The EVO system in the Expedition includes two 8-inch monitors mounted on the back of the front seat headrests. Using these screens, passengers will be able to access movies, videos, TV shows or even sporting events that are streamed from a home cable or satellite system. This is made possible through the industry’s first SlingPlayer, a software within the system that can connect to your home’s Slingbox system.
Will the 2018 Ford Explorer Have Built-In Wi-Fi?
Another key feature drivers and passengers want is Wi-Fi built into their vehicle. Now, it will be available in the Expedition. Up to 10 devices will be able to connect to it at one time, and this connection can be maintained up to 50 feet away from the vehicle.
Other infotainment features that Explorer customers can expect to find include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the vehicle will have satellite radio capability.
