What engine options are available on the 2018 Ford Explorer?
When you’re in the market for a new vehicle, it can be hard to find one that has everything you require, whether that is interior features, plenty of space, or a powerful engine. Sometimes, when you’re shopping for a car, you have to compromise on one or more of the aspects that you want from your vehicle. If you’re looking for a vehicle that provides everything that you want and more, the 2018 Ford Explorer is the right choice for you.
When you find vehicles that are high-performance, they often have the sparsest interiors, since all of the focus is on making sure that it is the most powerful vehicle possible. With the 2018 Ford Explorer, you have a vehicle that has plenty of power and three engine options, as well as three rows of seating that can also be folded down for extra cargo space.

Which 2018 Ford Explorer trim level is the right choice?
The 2018 Ford Explorer has five different trim levels available. Along with those five trim levels are the three different engine options that are available on the Ford Explorer. The standard engine on the base and XLT trim levels is a 3.5L V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also available on the 2018 Ford Explorer Limited, though this trim has a standard 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder the produces 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If that isn’t enough power for you, there is also a 365 horsepower, 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine with 350 pound-feet of torque on the Sport and Platinum trim levels.
With the exception of the 2.3L EcoBoost engine, the 2018 Ford Explorer is able to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. Even if you choose the 2018 Ford Explorer Limited, you’ll still be able to tow up to 2,000 pounds with the proper equipment.
