The Ford F-150 has earned an impressive reputation as one of the est vehicles every produced, and has long stood a the top of the pickup truck class. The latest version of the F-150 will include several updates for the new model year. Everything starts with the 2018 Ford F-150 engine options and performance.

New F-150 Standard Engine

The 2018 F-150 will come with an all-new engine that will be included as standard equipment on the truck’s base trim levels. Ford’s new 3.3-liter V-6 will replace the outgoing 3.5-liter V-6. Ford is expecting the performance numbers to be similar to the 282 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque offered by the previous engine.

F-150 Additional Engine Options

In addition to the base engine, the 2018 F-150 offers multiple engine upgrade options. This includes 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that offers turbocharged performance. Ford’s 5.0-liter V-8 will also be returning on the new F-150.

The new base engine and returning engine options will be joined by an all-new diesel engine. This will be the first time the F-150 will be offered with a diesel engine. The new engine will be a 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V-6.

Each F-150 engine can be paired with Ford’s all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. This new transmission has been designed to maximize the performance of the various engine options.
