If you want an engine that couples power with fuel efficiency, the 1.5L EcoBoost® Four-Cylinder provides 23 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, 181 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque.
The 2.0L Four-Cylinder EcoBoost® engine is the standard offering if you choose the 2018 Ford Fusion Titanium or Platinum trim. This is the second-most powerful engine available for the Ford Fusion, with 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It also provides 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway if you have the standard Front-wheel drive. This engine offers a choice between front and all-wheel drive, with only a minor impact on the fuel efficiency.
Specialty 2018 Ford Fusion Engines
With the 2018 Ford Fusion Sport, you unlock the most powerful engine available for the 2018 Fusion. The 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 is performance heavy, with 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque ready to hit the road. Fuel economy on this engine is 17 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
If you’re looking for a vehicle with excellent fuel economy, you can take a look at the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid, which has a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle Hybrid Engine that provides 43 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway and a combined fuel economy of 42 mpg. While it isn’t as powerful as the engine in the 2018 Fusion Sport, this hybrid engine does alright for itself, with 141 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque.
