As vehicles continue to get more and more advanced they are also becoming more and more efficient, which is great for both drivers and the environment. It is great for drivers because they end up saving time and money at the gas pump, and it is great for the environment because vehicles are producing fewer harmful emissions and using less fuel.

Earth Day this year is Wednesday April 22 2015, and we encourage you to get together with your loved ones to brainstorm ways you can be more efficient and use fewer natural resources such as electricity, gasoline and oil.

The Focus is an option for an electric car.

But who says that being efficient and mindful of your wastefulness has to end after Earth Day is over? You can continue to recycle and use resources sparingly all year round. Another way to maintain efficiency and to be environmentally responsible is to get a fuel efficient car.

This is an easy way to keep being “green” year-round. Although all of the vehicles Ford manufacturers are already efficient, there are a few that have received recognition for being so efficient, so we wanted to include them in our list of the greenest cars to drive for Earth Day 2015.

The 2015 Ford Focus is the first vehicle on our list because it has an available electric engine that gets up to 110 mpg in the city and 99 mpg on the highway. Yes, you read that right, up to 110 mpg in the city. It also comes with an available EcoBoost engine for those drivers who aren’t too keen on the electric engine that gets up 26 mpg in the city at up to 36 mpg on the highway.

The 2015 Ford Fiesta is another efficient vehicle that made our list because it is also very fuel efficient at up to 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg in the highway, but this vehicle is also extremely driver-centered and is super affordable at a starting MSRP of $13,965.

Finally, the 2015 Ford Edge takes third because of its affordability, its efficiency and, above all, its advanced technology. The Edge contains more new features than we’ve seen in awhile that affect its performance and make it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs we’ve ever seen
