It’s all in the details: Best way to clean your vehicle

How to detail your vehicle this summer

Washing your car is a good way to start the summer. If you haven’t already done so, having a clean car can be a great way to give your vehicle new life. There are many different schools of thought on how to best clean your car.

There are those who completely ignore the interior and focus on cleaning only the outside. And while you may have cleared all the garbage out of the front seat and maybe even ran a vacuum over the seats and floor, the interior probably doesn’t look good as new quite yet. While you may have thought you cleaned everything out, move your seats forward and then all the way back to clear out any coinage or small pieces of trash that may be stuck there.

You can then move on to cleaning the little nooks and crannies of the dashboard. Make sure that whatever product you’re using in compatible with the materials that make up your interior.  If you have leather or vinyl seats, be aware of what products will damage the seat and leave you with a big mess. For most of the space, you should be able to use a mild cleaner. While you may have cleaned the outside of the windshield, pay close attention to the inside. Though it may seem clean, taking a glass cleaner to it could really brighten your day.

To get your vehicle really clean, you can use q-tips or a toothbrush to clean in between the bents and buttons. If you want to get really into it, use a can of compressed air to really clean out the buttons. While this can be tedious, you’ll be grateful for it when you’re done.

Summer is the best time for change, so even if you go through all this, and still don’t love your vehicle, stop by Sanders Ford to look at our inventory of new and pre-owned vehicles.
