Mullet Festival in Swansboro
Just because it’s fall, that doesn’t mean that festival season has to end! Here at Sanders Ford we want to keep you updated on all the local events that you can’t miss! This month Sanders Ford is sponsoring the 60th Annual Mullet Festival in Swansboro. Mullet Festival is an event that the community of Swansboro looks forward to every year. It is good free fun for the whole family with plenty of activities to keep you entertained all weekend. So head on over in your brand new Ford vehicle and enjoy the 60th Annual Mullet Festival!
The Mullet Festival in Swansboro will be October 11-12 and will be take place in Downtown Swansboro. The festival started in 1954 to celebrate the opening of the new bridge in town and local mullet fisherman held a fish fry for the town. The tradition has really grown since then and now includes rides, live bands, crafters and a parade to kick things off. The festival starts on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the parade marching down HWY 24 to downtown Swansboro.
The festivities continue with streets open to the public to enjoy locally made crafts, foods and childrens activities along with live music all weekend long. The many local shops and restaurants in downtown Swansboro will also be open to visitors. Admission is free and it’s just a fun way to spent your weekend. The live entertainment for Saturday will take place at the Town Pavilion and will feature Elvis Tribute Artist Wayne Euliss, Rewind, Danny Woods and the Party Prophets, Fantastic Shakers and Shanana. On Sunday, the live entertainment will move to the second stage located at Bicentennial Park and will feature a variety of local talent.
