At more than 100 horsepower per liter, the official 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 power ratings and horsepower numbers have been released and the GT350 and GT350R are the most power-dense, naturally aspirated road-worthy engine in Ford’s history!

The all-new engine designed and manufactured by Ford is a 5.2L flat-plane crankshaft V8 that is used solely in the Shelby GT350 and the Shelby GT350R. These engines make up to 526 horsepower and up to 429 lb.-ft. of torque and have a limit of 8,250 rpm, which also makes it the highest revving V8 in Ford’s history.

The entire goal of the Shelby GT350 and 350R was to create the most powerful, most agile, most exhilarating Mustang ever. On top of that, the new engine is also the most efficient ever. The new engine reaches those ratings without turbocharging or supercharging, which is another noteworthy feat.
