One of the big changes coming to the new 2017 Ford F-150 is the transmission. We’ve known for a long time that a 10-speed transmission with manual shifting was going to make its way into the off-road and racing focused 2017 F-150 Raptor, but the same transmission is also set to make its way into the 2017 F-150. Check out our post to see the new transmission display in the 2017 F-150.
What does the Transmission Display in the 2017 F-150 do?
Many of us are used to checking our dashboard to see what gear we’re in, but the new 2017 Ford F-150 takes things one step further. The 2017 F-150 dashboard will also include a count-down style list next to the tachometer that displays the numbers one through 10. While this might not seem like the most exciting feature, it is one that we’re looking forward to. Many who use the F-150 for tough towing jobs will always welcome the inclusion of more info, especially if it is arranged in an easy to read way. With all of the gears listed, you can also quickly glance at your dash to see your rough position for a general idea of what is going on.
What do we know about the 2017 Ford F-150 so far?
Apart from the new 10-speed transmission, the 2017 Ford F-150 will also receive an all-new 3.5L EcoBoost (now the second generation) to give the F-150 even more horsepower and torque. Ford has said that engineers designed the engine to provide a best-in-class torque at more than 450 lb-ft — which is a substantial upgrade over the current 3.5L V6 in the F-150.
