USO Thanksgiving Feast in Jacksonville
Thanksgiving is right around the corner but it’s never too early to start giving thanks. Here at Sanders Ford we have a close relationship with the armed services and we sponsor a variety of events every year to help the men and women who are served or are currently serving our nation. With Veterans Day and Thanksgiving being in the same month, we tend to be extra thankful during November. That’s why we want to bring attention to the USO Thanksgiving Fest in Jacksonville.
Every year, the USO in North Carolina puts together a free Thanksgiving Feast for active duty, dependents and retirees. This feast has been a tradition at the USO of North Carolina Jacksonville Center. It was originally created for the Patriots who were unable to go home for the holidays. The event has grown exponentially since then and has come to be known as the troops “home away from home”. The meal provides friendly smiles, warm hugs, fresh baked cookies, and dinner for the troops and their families.
The event will take place on November 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The USO of NC is preparing to feed over 2,000 military personnel and their families. No RSVP is required and it is open to all military ID card holders. None of this would be possible without the countless volunteers and USO of NC staff. If you want to donate your time, please volunteer for the USO of NC. If you are busy this Thanksgiving, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities all year long. Find out how to help here.
Sanders Ford would like to thank our armed forces for all they have done and continue to do for our nation. This is a great opportunity to show your thanks. Check back here often to see what other community events are coming up and see what other ways you can help like the Home for Our Troop fundraiser. Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving!
