Trucks like the 2016 Ford F-150 are among the most versatile on the road today, but what all gives them this bragging right? The quick answer that many people jump to is the powerful engines you can find beneath the hood, which contribute to the F-150’s immense towing power, but there’s more to the F-150 than just an engine. The 2016 Ford F-150 also comes available in three different cab styles — Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew.
What Ford F-150 Cab style is right for you?
The standard cab style in the 2016 Ford F-150 is the Regular Cab, which has seating for three in its first row bench. The Regular Cab style lends itself best to work trucks, but isn’t that all Ford F-150s? Yes and no. what we mean is that the F-150 is specifically used for work, and not really as a grocery getter or way to drive around the family. A major advantages of the Regular Cab is that it allows for the most towing capacity, since it will be lighter than the extended cabs.
The Ford SuperCrew, on the other hand, comes with two sets of doors like a regular passenger car. The SuperCrew is perfect for families who need the F-150s capabilities to tow boats, Jet Skis, cameras, trailers, and more. With its four total doors everyone has the room they need to easily climb in and out.
The Ford SuperCab is a bit of a mix between the two. Like the SuperCrew, you can hold six total passengers in the SuperCab F-150. Unlike the SuperCrew, the SuperCab has a set of partial doors without a center pillar. So while there are two doors on each side, you can’t open the rear doors without having the front door open — and you can’t close the front door without first closing the rear doors. A benefit of this is having more door space to load things into the F-150 or use it for work in other ways.
