2018 Expedition Receives Tech Upgrades
As you’ll be able to see from the photos, the Expedition received a completely new design for the 2018 model year, but that isn’t the most exciting thing. If you ask us, the most exciting thing is all the tech upgrades the 2018 model comes with.
For instance, it has SYNC 3, the latest in infotainment technology from Ford. This allows drivers to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to stay connected on the go. And speaking of staying connected, the SUV will also offer a Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging.
Changes to the Expedition can also be found under the hood. The vehicle is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine with standard Auto Start-Stop. This is paired to a new 10-speed transmission that is a class-exclusive. Also new is an available electronic limited-slip differential on 4WD models.
Moreover, this all-new Expedition is being touted as the most adaptable Expedition ever. It can seat up to 8 people at a time. Even more impressive is that it can hold everyone’s belongings thanks to the advanced cargo manager, keeping everything in place and from falling out when the liftgate is opened. As if that wasn’t versatile enough, the 2018 Expedition is the first full-size utility vehicle that has a sliding second row of seats that feature tip-and-slide functionality, meaning you can easily access the third row without having to take things off the seat, such as a child seat.
